One Piece season 2 premiere date: Is 2027 feasible?

We do recognize that we are still somewhat reeling from the launch of One Piece season 2 this week, but why not keep looking ahead? A season 3 has already been greenlit and when you consider how little of the source material has been adapted so far, we tend to think that there could be a lot more coming beyond that as well.
With all of this in mind, it does make sense for Netflix to try to speed things up here — and also ensure that there isn’t some insanely long amount of time between seasons. So what more can we say on that subject now?

Well, first and foremost, we don’t think it is crazy at all to think that 2027 could be when One Piece does actually come back on the air, even if it does feel that way given the gap between seasons 1 and 2. There were a lot of mitigating factors that paid a role in that, with one of the biggest being the industry strikes of 2023. All signs point to a quicker turnaround now, especially since the cast and crew are already deep into season 3 filming.
Could it be unrealistic to sit here and suggest that we will see the Straw Hat Pirates return in March of next year? Absolutely, but summer or fall? Those feel very much possible, and that is also while acknowledging that there is a lot of post-production and visual effects required for a show like this. We also remain hopeful that a season 4 is going to be announced within the next year, mostly because the faster you can get everyone to work on it, the better — not to mention how it also ensures that the turnaround stays fast. There are so many more adventures to be had and really, this is the sort of escapism we all need in tough times.
