Dexter: Resurrection season 2: One potential change?

Filming for Dexter: Resurrection season 2 is slated to take place this spring, and you better believe that we’re more than a little eager to see it back! We imagine that there is going to be another era of murderous mayhem ahead for one Dexter Morgan, and that is to go along with more great series nostalgia at the same time.

For much of season 1, we know that the nostalgia came not just from Michael C. Hall’s character, but also Angel Batista (David Zayas) bringing back the ghosts of the past. However, that character is gone, so are there other ways to evoke memories?

Well, based on what we are hearing right now, it seems as though this could be the case — though some of these memories could be coming from a surprising spot. Speaking to Screen Rant, showrunner Clyde Phillips seems to indicate that the opening title sequence could return, something similar to both the original and the short-lived Original Sin prequel:

We’ve been talking about that. I haven’t talked to the production yet about this, but we want to replicate the original title sequence, but we’ve gotta figure out how to do it, because budgets are tight, and time is tight. But we’ll figure it out, we always do.

In the end, we recognize that the opening credits are not an absolute game-changer, but we do think it helps to produce more vibes and an overall sense of fun. Why wouldn’t everyone out there want something like this, especially since a lot of other shows in this current era are defined by a rather mundane title card and little else?
