NCIS season 23 episode 12 spoilers: A major McGee change ahead?

One of the things we keep hearing about NCIS season 23 is that there are a number of huge things that are going to transpire. You could argue that we just saw that with Bishop’s return, and something more could be coming at the end of the month with the 500th episode.

Prior to getting to that point, though, is there a chance for some sort of personal or professional change for one Timothy McGee? Let’s just say that for now, there is evidence pointing in that particular direction.

“In Too Deep” – A murdered drone pilot leads the team to a missing woman from McGee’s past and a relationship he thought was long behind him. But as the case deepens, McGee realizes her reappearance could unravel more than an investigation, it could change the course of his life, on the CBS Original series NCIS, Tuesday, March 17 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ Premium plan subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*.

In general, we’ve always loved episodes of this show that give you a real scope of McGee’s life. He is one of the more relatable members of the team and a guy who has come a long way! What we wonder here is whether this woman inspires him to reconsider various things about his career and where he is at present. We certainly don’t think he would be leaving the team, but could he fight for some sort of further promotion? We know that he has in the past, but of course not everything went his way.
