The Diplomat season 4 premiere date: A February 2026 update

Is there a reasonable chance that we are going to hear more about The Diplomat season 4 between now and the end of February? There is no denying that the Keri Russell series is anticipated — it has developed an audience through three seasons on Netflix, and it has also managed to be fairly consistent. Think of it this way — it managed to release three seasons in three and a half years, and that is an incredibly rare thing to pull off within the world of TV these days.
So is there a chance that the show will keep things going here moving into season 4, and we will see it before 2026 wraps up?

Well, the good news that we can share is that The Diplomat season 4 has already started production, and all signs on the surface suggest that it could be the most ambitious one we’ve seen so far. Both Bradley Whitford and Allison Janney are now series regulars, and it feels like the political intrigue will be more dramatic and biting than it has perhaps ever been. This is a show that we have a ton of confidence in at this point and from here on out, it should only escalate.
As for the bad news, that is quite simple: It would be a pretty enormous surprise to get any news on season 2 until at least the summer, with the premiere coming in the fall. While the turnaround time on it is fast compared to some other shows, this is still not one that can turn anything around faster than a season a year. There is still an amount of caution that you have to practice and if it takes a little longer to make something great, so be it.
