A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 1 episode 5: An unsung hero?

In just two days, we are finally going to get a chance to see A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 1 episode 5 arrive — and it has definitely been a longer wait, thanks in part to episode 4 arriving early. Also, add to this the extra suspense that is generated from previous ending.

At this point, we know that most of the excitement now is generated from the impending Trial of Seven — and beyond just that, the fact that we are seeing someone in Baelor take part while going against his own family. It is still true that Dunk still lacks the resources of Aerion’s side, given he has both the Kingsguard and his own father alongside him. He, meanwhile, has a few accomplished people like Lyonel Baratheon but then also Raymun, who was literally made into a knight just before the start of the trial.

We certainly recognize that Baelor is going to be thought of as the catalyst entering this showdown and there are certainly reasons to think that this is going to be so. However, at the same time is there still room for a reasonable amount of surprise here? We tend to think so, mostly due to the fact that so much of this series is about the unexpected.

After all, so much attention could be on the Targaryen for his decision that it could lead to Dunk having better opportunities to defend himself. Or, perhaps someone like Raymun really being able to step up to the plate! These episodes are so short that almost every single minute matters; it is for that reason that we can’t just overlook the amount of time that the one-time squire has been featured, with the same being said for Lyonel. These are all people who want to make a name for themselves, but also have their own personal ax to grind.
