After watching The Pitt season 2 episode 6 on HBO Max, it makes all the sense in the world if you are feeling a little emotional. After all, we just lost one of the most important patients in the history of show. He was also someone who had a history with Langdon tied to his own addiction.

So is this man’s death going to lead to more problems for Langdon with him moving into the rest of the shift? It is possible, just as it is that there could be more issues with Noah and Robby, as well. All of these are at least worth examining as we get a little bit further into this particular journey.

In speaking to The Wrap after this past episode (Noah Wyle) who also directed episode 6 had the following to say:

“There’s no getting around the fact that [Louie] was the patient who was the catalyst for Langdon’s whole drug addiction being exposed … He didn’t expect to come back and treat him. He certainly didn’t expect to come back and have him die. If we’re looking for possible triggers to relapse your addiction – this is a big one. and yet there’s this tension.

“The student feels like he failed the teacher. The teacher feels like he failed the student. Neither one of them want to admit that their perceptions were off, and to a large extent, Langdon represents this Examined Life, which is kind of like kryptonite to Robby.”

Ultimately, we do think that everything will get worse for some of these characters before they get better — mostly because that has been established within the world of this show. Robby will likely be more frustrated by Langdon’s presence. Meanwhile, Langdon could be wondering why he decided to ever come back at all.
