Outlander season 8 spoilers: EP on central Faith mystery
We know that coming into Outlander season 8 on Starz, there are understandably a lot of questions that longtime fans have. What is one of the big ones? Well, think in terms of what happened to Faith.
Could that character actually be alive, despite her apparent death back in season 2? That part of the story was so emotional and traumatic for Claire that in some ways, it feels impossible to undo. However, so much of this show has been about the impossible coming real, as we are talking here about time-travel and a love story that courses across centuries. It is hard to rule anything out, but the one thing that we can say with some certainty is that you are going to get an answer here. Not only that, but it is one that will not require you to wait forever to get an answer.

In speaking on all of this further to Entertainment Weekly, here is what executive producer Matthew B. Roberts had to say:
“I didn’t want to make fans wait halfway through the season to get the answers … That one answer actually spawns about a thousand more questions, and those are what gets answered throughout the season.”
Ultimately, this sense of mystery could help Outlander keep a fresh coat of paint through what is easily one of its most challenging seasons to date. After all, this is a point where the show has to get ahead of the Diana Gabaldon book series in a couple of ways, especially when it comes to coming up with an ending. What is so interesting here is that as of right now, Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan don’t even know how the series ends for sure. Multiple endings were filmed, and this is one that is almost certainly going to lead to mixed reactions. That is not an indictment on Roberts or anyone else; instead, that is the reality of endings. Everyone has their own idea as to how a story should conclude, meaning that mixed reactions are bound to happen.
