Best Medicine season 1 episode 7 spoilers: The blood factory?

As we get ourselves closer to Best Medicine season 1 episode 7 on Fox next week, is there more good news that we can share?
Well, first and foremost, we do still think it is worth celebrating that the Josh Charles series continues to airing the Olympics. This was a somewhat risky gambit for the series to take given the competition, but we do think it stands a good chance at working when it comes notable counterprogramming. It can generate its own audience, and we hope that more and more people find it as a cozy and interesting little medical drama. Of course, it helps that this is an adaptation of a project that is already beloved in many parts of the globe.

Now, let’s set the stage more for what’s actually ahead — check out the full Best Medicine season 1 episode 7 synopsis:
When Port Wenn puts on their annual ‘Blood Factory,’ celebrating the gory horror novel set there, Martin must contain his secret debilitating blood phobia when Louisa gets seriously ill and needs his help. Meanwhile, the town is all atwitter when the novel’s author is rumored to be making a surprise visit to the event in the all-new “There Might Be Blood” episode of Best Medicine airing Tuesday, Feb 17 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (BMD-107) (TV-14 D,L,S,V)
Given that Port Wenn is a fictional town within Maine, we do not think it is all that much of a guess to say that “Blood Factory” is a reference to Stephen King. We do also think that this sort of thing does happen to communities that serve as a basis for popular books. After all, look at what happened to Forks, Washington amidst the larger crazy with the Twilight novels. This episode should be really fun, but also give us a chance to learn more about Martin, as well. Given his job, this is not the easiest phobia in the world for him to have.
