Outer Banks season 5 premiere date: A February 2026 update

Is there a chance that we will hear something more about an Outer Banks season 5 premiere date between now and the end of this month?

At this point, we certainly do understand why there may be more enthusiasm than ever around the return of the Pogues. After all, season 5 is the final chapter, and in the aftermath of what happened to JJ last season, we tend to think that the story to come is going to be more emotionally charged than ever before.

Now with all of that being said, this is where we do need to swoop in with a reminder that none of this means that we are about to get any official announcements from Netflix. Filming for Outer Banks is over, but it wrapped close to the end of last year. This means that there is a lot more work that needs to be done here to perfect things, whether it be editing, music, or any ADR work.

For now, our general feeling is that the best-case scenario will be seeing this show arrive at some point in mid-to-late spring, though it remains to be seen if it will be split into halves or not. It would be somewhat of a shock if we get an announcement this month … but hearing something in March or April remains very-much in play. We are beyond eager already to see how much heart and adventure we get in the final chapter — but beyond that, whether or not any sort of spin-off will be explicitly hinted at.

In general, our advice is quite simple: Be patient through February, but also cautiously optimistic. We sure learn more about the future of John B. and Sarah before too long…
