Outlander season 8 teaser: Could Jamie actually die?
As so many of you know at this point, Outlander season 8 is going to premiere on Starz come March 6 — and yes, it will be more emotional than ever. We are looking her at the final chapter of the story, one that has immense pressure to tie together so many different loose ends.
Of course, this is also a final chapter that could present some difficult closure on a few different threads, and that includes the possibility that Jamie Fraser does not make it through this alive.

If you head over to the link here, you can see the new teaser that signals such an ominous fate for Sam Heughan’s character, as he learns more through Frank’s book about conflict in the Ridge and then also his own perilous future. Claire clings to him, desperate for a way to change history — while also knowing of the inevitable battles still to come.
So is there a way to change things? We have seen through the world of Outlander already that things can change, and we almost hope that this sort of blatant foreshadowing is the sort of thing that can be undone. However, at the same time death does come for everyone, and Jamie has managed to steer clear of dying a number of times already despite the close calls.
The only thing that is clear at this point is that you cannot look to the source material here to get an answer, one way or another, about Jamie’s fate. It does appear as though the show is still working to find a way to surprise us with this ending, and it is one of the only real times in the series that there have been stakes of this particular level.
