‘Supernatural’ season 9 spoilers: Day one in Vancouver; directing notes

While filming may not have begun just yet in Vancouver for the ninth season of “Supernatural,” it’s getting ever closer. Today is the first day of some serious meetings taking place when it comes to the hit CW show in its primary filming location. The writing process has been underway for weeks, but everyone getting to the city and starting concept meetings which is really the first major step for getting the cameras to start rolling.

In case you are wondering why a Tuesday to begin this process, the simple answer revolves around Canada Day. Since Monday is a national holiday in Vancouver, the local crew of course was not obliged to work.

For those of you interested in knowing who the director is going to be for the show’s first episode back, Guy Bee showed a production script with his name attached to it on Twitter. (It’s unclear if this is the first actual episode to air or just the first one to film, as we’ve heard episodes are being shot out of order.) “Taxi Driver” and “Blood Brother” were some of his more notable season 8 episodes that he directed, and he’s also done work on another Vancouver-located series on The CW in “Arrow,” directing such episodes as “The Huntress Returns.” The guy has a huge resume overall, including installments of “Kyle XY,” “Criminal Minds,” and “Jericho.”

Once filming actually begins and the folks related to the show make it clear (as we don’t post unauthorized set pictures), we will let you know more. Meanwhile, remember that “Supernatural” season 9 will be back on the air beginning on Tuesday, October 15 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time.
