The Lowdown season 2: Is it renewed, canceled at FX?
Following the end of season 1 on FX this week, is there a chance that we are going to see The Lowdown season 2 happen? Or, have we reached the end? For now, it does feel like a situation we are left to wonder about.
First and foremost, we certainly know that there will be an audience out there interested in more of this show, and for good reason. Just remember all of the stuff that we saw for the cast and crew this time around, and the idea that you could bring in new characters and also different parts of the landscape. You’ve also got an executive producer here in Sterlin Harjo who has a reputation for making great television going back to Reservation Dogs.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, here is some of what Harjo had to say about possible other chapters of this story:
I mean, I’ve thought about many seasons of this show. I’ve thought about other projects — there was always an idea of going deeper into Oklahoma and some of these relationships that Lee has made in the first season. And you look at your show and see how people are responding. People love Waylon [Cody Lightning], so I wonder what [there is to explore with him]. And Cyrus — Killer Mike is amazing. Sometimes that stuff guides it. I have ideas. I was telling somebody, The Rockford Files did it every episode. We could do every season.
For now, we would say that we are cautiously optimistic about the prospects for more of The Lowdown but at the same time, we’ve been around the block here with a lot of shows. Nothing is ever certain under a season 2 is greenlit and in some instances, even that is not enough! We just hope that if more is ordered here, we find out soon so that there is a smaller waiting time between seasons. Ideally, we would love to dive back into this world again either late next year or in early 2027.
