‘Sons of Anarchy’ to release comic around time of season 6 premiere
“Sons of Anarchy” is going to be gearing up to show off some rather big things in the months ahead. We have the show’s Comic-Con panel in July, the season premiere in September (most likely), and now, there is news that an official comic book will be coming along with it. While creator Kurt Sutter seems intent on keeping the main narrative of the series (meaning the one featuring Jax Teller) on TV, this will be an opportunity for those of you out there to get some more insight into the history of the motorcycle club SAMCRO.
This comic will be drawn by Damian Couceiro and written by Christopher Golden, which is somewhat ironic given that he has done work on “Hellboy,” which Ron Perlman of course famously portrayed in a pair of feature films.
Per Comic Book Resources, check out the brief synopsis of “Sons of Anarchy” #1 (the first of six planned editions):
“With no one else to turn to, the daughter of an old SAMCRO member comes to Charming looking for help. The only people standing between Kendra and certain death are the Sons of Anarchy, and, for better or for worse, Sergeant-at-Arms Tig.”
What is clearly exciting to us about this is that the comic will create some additional back-story for some of the people that we’ve come to know on the show, but at the same time present something new and refreshing that won’t change the main story. That way, it’s not required reading, but we’re sure a good many people out there would want to check it out.
This comic is being created by BOOM! Studios, and if you look below, you can see the first teaser image that was sent out this week. What’s your take on the “Sons of Anarchy” comic? If you want to also check out some more teasers on season 6 via Charlie Hunnam, you can do so over here.
