‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 4 spoilers: A new villain rises?
Every show can benefit at times from having a Big Bad, even some that are often stuck with the label of “procedural.” With that in mind, let’s progress into what is an early look at what could happen during the fourth season of “Hawaii Five-0.” While filming may still be a number of weeks away, the writing process has already started, therefore executive producer Peter Lenkov says that there are already some interesting storylines being put into place.
Lenkov was recently at the Banff World Media Festival (which is about as far away from Hawaii as you can get in terms of terrain while still being in North America), and the Calgary Herald quotes him as saying the following about potentially having a new villain set up for the new season:
“It’s a little early, but we’re hoping to have a character, very much like Wo Fat, who will arc out over the season … And maybe come to us a little unconventionally. It will hopefully surprise us and be a twist in the storytelling. That’s one of the additions.”
Sadly, we don’t know any more than that, but Lenkov clearly knows that he is in store for a challenge when the show comes back on the air. “Hawaii Five-0” will be on a new night in Fridays, and he needs to find a way to ensure that most of the same viewers (especially within that key 18-49 demographic that keeps shows on the air) stick around.

Please don’t let anything happen to this show it is so good. Moving it to Friday night was not a smart move. I hope all goes well. Can’t wait till the season premier!

Really want the relationship between McGarrett & Williams to continue to be close. The chemistry and ‘bromance’ between Scott & Alex’s characters forms the glue for many viewers without forcing unnecessary romantic relationships into the mix. Also would love to see Danny in more jeopardy & hurt this year with Steve reacting to it so hope the new villain has something mean in store for him! Less Cath would suit me fine too. Less recurring guest stars, more Five-0 team of Steve, Danny, Chin & Kono please. A kick ass show I hope will deliver again with humor & angst. Mahalo

Above all, bring Grace Park back to the show. I’m afraid that if you don’t, plus the move to Fridays will doom what is the best cop show on TV. Ms. Park is a lot more talented than some of the other actors on the show (not to mention nice to look at). I know I’m only one viewer, but I doubt very much that I’ll continue to watch without “Kono” doing her thing…
