‘True Blood’ season 6 spoilers: New showrunner talks death, slowing things down
In previewing the ten episodes ahead, new showrunner Brian Buckner gave a new interview with Rolling Stone and in it, he explains just how there is one moment in particular this season where things will be slowed down, and emotions will run high:
“Well, thematically – and I want to be fair to all seasons past – I feel like we do so much running and killing that we very seldom stop to speak to the importance of life. So we will have an episode this season that’s entitled ‘Life Matters.’ We’re trying to remind people that the lives of these human beings and of the vampires here in this small town of Bon Temps, they mean something. So that if we lose somebody, we’re going to stop to grieve them, and try to tell the more human side of the supernatural stories we’re telling. That is sort of my mission statement.”
It has been long confirmed that there is a major death happening during the season, but the producers have been very cagey on saying who it is, or what this death really means. It will be a few episodes before the end of the season, and it’s going to have to run up against Opie’s “Sons of Anarchy” death as one of the more shocking ones we’ve seen on TV.
Do you think that this is an interesting twist for the show to take this year when it comes to changing things up? If you want to see the latest “True Blood” season 6 trailer, you can do so over here.
