‘Glee’ season 5 notes: Darren Criss, Chord Overstreet team up and rock out

Chord OverstreetIt’s pretty easy to love both Darren Criss and Chord Overstreet. It’s even easier to love them when they are performing their guts out to a song from a pretty legendary artist, one who we thought would probably never be covered on their show “Glee” in a million years prior to it actually happening: David Bowie.

The performance that we’re talking about here comes courtesy of Darren’s recent concert in Nashville, where the two rocked out to the Bowie track “Heroes.” We know that both of these artists are clearly talented musicians as Darren has been gigging ever since he first was cast on the show, and Chord actually took some time during season 3 off in order to work on a debut album. (His brother Nash is also a member of the band Hot Chelle Rae.)

So will we get a chance to see these two guys rock out with something else on “Glee” this coming season? We’re almost sure of it, given that they spent plenty of time together during season 4. What was pretty cool about this past story was that it was something littered with confusion. While we know that everyone wants to see Blaine with Kurt, his crush on Sam was interesting in seeing just how he would deal with wanting something that he really could not have. There is also a graduation coming up, which will give us an opportunity to see where both of these characters end up going following their time at McKinley High.

What do you think about the performance, and do you want to see Darren and Chord form some sort of musical super-group in the future? In speaking about original music, be sure to click here if you want to see what Lea Michele has to say about the process of recording her debut album.
