‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 6 spoilers: Talk on extended episodes, companion show

Sons of AnarchyWhile there is no “Sons of Anarchy” scoop to share today that is on par with some of the recent casting announcements that we have shared, we do still have a couple of details that we are pretty sure you will want to know about courtesy of executive producer Kurt Sutter’s recent Q&A session with fans.

The first note is mostly important for those of you who are sticklers for schedules (or have some serious DVR programming that you want to do months in advance, for whatever reason). There are once again going to be episodes this season that go beyond the hour-long run time. We saw this happen on a number of occasions during season 5, especially as we neared the finale, and we will never mind getting a little bit of extra Jax and SAMCRO for our buck (or at least the bucks we’re paying to the cable company).

As for the companion show that Sutter has talked about for the past two weeks, he did say on Tuesday that he has a host in mind for it, but also was hesitant to share any details beyond that. The biggest issue right now is that there is no green-light on the project, so he understandably wants to remain coy on sharing too many details until he has confirmation that it is all systems go. Previously, the knowledge was shared that this series would most likely be internet-based, and had some ideas developed thanks to “Talking Dead,” even if Sutter was thinking of a companion piece long before the AMC show even premiered. He’s also said that there are some substantial differences between his idea and the Chris Hardwick-hosted series.
