‘Mike & Molly’ season 3 finale gets airdate following ‘Big Bang Theory’

Mike & MollyEarlier this month, the season 3 finale of “Mike & Molly,” which had a storyline that at least contained references to some sort of super-storm, was pulled out of sensitivity following the tragic tornadoes that were blowing across Oklahoma at around the same time.

Now, CBS has went ahead and rescheduled the episode in a brand-new time slot. The network confirmed Tuesday that the “Mike & Molly” season 3 finale is going to air on Thursday night at 8:30 p.m. Eastern. The downside to this news is clearly that this is not in its normal time slot, but the silver lining is that it will be following up a repeat of “The Big Bang Theory.” Since this show draws better ratings in reruns than many network comedies do with new episodes, it is still probably the best support the network can give the show at this point.

This has been at times a rather rough past few weeks for “Mike & Molly,” as the show creator recently chose to leave in order to work on developing new projects. Whenever there is something like this that happens, there is always some anxiety. (Let’s just hope that it creates less of a “Community” situation.)

As for “Mike & Molly’s” fourth season, there is no word on when it will premiere right now. The show is currently not on the fall schedule, but there will almost certainly be a place for it given that not every new series will perform well in the ratings.
