‘Best Ink’ season 2, episode 8 preview: A flash challenge turns violent?
To the credit of “Best Ink,” the show has done a pretty exemplary job this season when it comes to finding pretty new and creative ways to come up with Flash Challenges. Are they not always relevant to tattooing? No, but there are worse ways to fill up a show than having artists roast each other, come up with creative ways to design guitars, or create custom movie posters with a pitch to go along with it. So many shows are limited when it comes to their reach regardless of whether or not you’re going to go get a full sleeve on your arm as is that it allows artists to really create something special.
However, the preview video for Wednesday’s episode suggests that it may just be forcing the artists out of their comfort zone. The remaining five artists all travel to a pretty seedy location for their next challenge, where they quickly witnesses to some violent exchange that happens in the middle of the street involving some guys beating each other up.
Of course, there’s about a 0% chance that this is actually real given that we would have heard something about itlong before now. Nonetheless, there are still some genuine questions here worth asking like: What in the world are the artists going to do? Paint the cars, make a painting inspired by the event, or try to provide counseling to these guys while inking peace signs to their shoulders? We really don’t have any idea here.
Regardless of what happens, the winner will get some more cash, and then head on to an Ink Challenge that will be all about photo-realism. Who are rooting for at this point and do you think that there’s any way that Teresa won’t win this season? If you want to check out some more “Best Ink”-related news, you can do so over here.
Update: Okay, so if you really want to know what the challenge is about, it is inspired in part by the upcoming “Fast and Furious” movie. So there you go.
