‘Glee’ season 4 finale spoilers: Hear Melissa Benoist’s Marley perform original song
The upcoming “Glee” season 4 finale carries with it the title of “All Or Nothing,” and with that in mind, it really feels rather appropriate that we would see a song performed by the same exact name. In continuing the trend of Marley writing original songs, Melissa Benoist’s character is going to be belting out another new number during this final episode of the season in “All Or Nothing.” Based on what we are hearing this time, it does not look like she is going to be passing out near the end of it.
The song is entitled “All Or Nothing,” and to be frank, the lyrical content here is rather obvious. The song is about getting through tough times and conquering obstacles, with there hopefully being some sort of reward for you on the other side. It is hardly a surprising song, but what we do like about it is that it is a song that really feels like something that a teenager would write. The melody is pretty simple, and while it’s not the best original that “Glee” has ever done, we do appreciate it when they try a few risks out here and there.
But will this song be enough to carry the New Directions to the Regionals title? That is the real question right now, as they have some pretty substantial competition coming from Frida Romero and the rival glee group the Hoosierdaddies. (We’re assuming that Vocal Adrenaline will show up at Nationals, if the New Directions crew makes it that far.)
What do you think of “All Or Nothing,” and do you feel like it holds it own or has a specific place in the throng of other great “Glee” original songs? Be sure to share your thoughts below! Also, you can hear another song from the finale in Jessica Sanchez’s “Clarity” over at the link here.
