‘American Idol’ notes: Lauren Alaina, Adam Lambert, and Lee DeWyze
As we near the end of “American Idol” this season, we’ve almost seen the full spectrum of notable former contestants appear with a few exceptions. One of them is of course Adam Lambert, who has appeared every year on the show ever since being a part of season 8. So what gives here? He’s been overseas for a good chunk of the season, and our guess is that this is one of the primary reasons why we haven’t seen him.
On a different note, we wanted to announce that Adam will be a part of the Universal Studios live concert series, and will be performing a show on Saturday, June 29. So if you’re in the Orlando area and want to see something special to go along with your theme park experience, this is probably the perfect time to go.
About Lauren Alaina’s appearance – Lauren will be making an appearance on the show for the second consecutive year, and this time around, she will be performing her new single “Barefoot and Buckwild” for the first time on TV. You can hear a 30-second snippet of it below, and it’s definitely a song that plays to a much older audience than songs from her original album “Wildflower.”
Lee DeWyze talks new album – How would you like a description of Lee’s upcoming new album straight from the man himself? Speaking to Billboard, he describes the disc as “folk story telling anthem pop rock,” and goes on to say that he really did not go into a studio with the idea of focusing in on one particular genre:
“We didn’t go in the studio and say, ‘We’re going to make this kind of album.’ We were like, ‘Let’s just make music. You play the banjo? OK go’.”
We should hopefully have more details on Lee’s upcoming album in the months ahead, so be sure to stay tuned for more on that.

I have stopped watching American Idol. But I will be the first one to tune in if
Adam Lambert is on the show. Please bring him to the finale. But, please let him
perform alone. American Idol found him they should be proud.

Adam Lambert is an international superstar. He should be on Idol but he should be performing by himself, not with contestants. He owns the stage and when he performs all eyes are on him. Why put him with a contestant or even more than one contestant when all eyes will be on Adam anyway. This isn’t good for the contestants to be overshadowed by his vocals and strong stage presence. He oozes charisma. He needs to be performing on his own.

I am still hoping they are saving the best Adam lambert for the finale! I chech Web every day looking for new that he will be on the show. I am so obsessed with Adam. A true Glamberts. I will see him in Del Mar in July but idiol needs him so badly!

I would watch IDOL if Adam performed. He’s been overseas touring, getting awards, visiting radio stations, and now this week he is being honored by Glaad. Too bad America snubs him especially since they really drive the music industry. He is a great performer and deserves even more success. I hope he on the IDOL finale. Not worth my time to watch otherwise. Can you imagine him singing a duet with Jennifer Hudson or Cher? Or another contestant (I’m sure there’s someone who could sing with him). Thanks for keeping up with Adam Matt.

I admire an artist who creates a new sound, (“folk story telling anthem pop rock,”). Lee’s very fortunate that his voice easily translates into whatever sound is needed to push a song from good to great. I can’t wait for this album!!!!!!!!
