Ratings: NBC’s ‘Grimm’ improves on Tuesday, while ‘Voice,’ ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ drop

While NBC’s “Grimm” may not necessarily be a runaway hit on Tuesday night, the network is clearly seeing that sticking the show there is a substantial improvement from Friday nights. Not only that, but it sure beats the pants off of that woefully-rated “Ready For Love.”

Even though “The Voice” dropped to a season-low rating of 3.7 for its last knockout round show of the season (which may be a sign of some viewer fatigue moving into the live shows next week), “Grimm” managed a 2.0, which is its highest rating since October.  Not bad, considering that NBC has not had a ton of time to promote the switch over. With that being said, “Grimm” will surely adjust down given that “The Voice” typically runs over by a minute or two.

There’s not too much else substantial to report this week, save for “NCIS: Los Angeles” posting a series low rating of 2.2, which is probably just a by-product of the competition from “The Voice” (which does not usually run into the 9:00 p.m. hour Tuesdays). This does expose in part the issue with the CBS model of skewing older and keeping procedural shows on from year to year: With there being so little effort to find young viewers, the demo rating drops over time as the viewership ages. Look at it this way: “New Girl” had a 2.0 on the night, and it did this with only around 3.5 million viewers. Meanwhile, “NCIS: Los Angeles” had almost 13 million.
