‘Arrow’ spoilers: Check out Felicity Smoak’s new glamorous get-up
If there is one major revelation that has come out of the entire first season of “Arrow” thus far, it’s that we have a standout character in Felicity Smoak. At first, it felt like Emily Bett Rickards was just going to be a tiny piece of the puzzle, but over time she has not only become involved in some of the missions, but there is actually an active fan base out there hoping to see her hook up with Oliver Queen someday. Will that happen? That is something we don’t know the answer to.
What we can say is that for the May 1 episode “The Undertaking” (which is the 21st of the season), Felicity is going to be asked to go undercover in order to obtain some valuable intel. So how does this go? We’ll let executive producer Andrew Kreisberg (per TVLine) explain it to you:
“[It’s] hilarious … In a way she’s the audience. She’s not a soldier, she’s not a superhero, she’s just somebody who’s good with a computer and gets thrust into these things.”
As for why Felicity was chosen for this particular task rather than the very-charming Oliver, the showrunner explained that her feminine wiles are a primary reason:
“[Sometimes] it takes a pretty, smart, brave girl in a hot red dress to get the job done, and not a big, tough, strong guy in a green hood.”
The good news is that we already know that there is plenty more of Felicity to come on the show, as Rickards has been named a series regular for the upcoming second season.
