‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ reunion review: Kim Zolciak returns; Kandi Burruss fights
If there is one word that we would use to describe the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” reunion shows at the moment, it would be “bloated.” Why? Basically, Bravo and Andy Cohen have found a way to turn a day of shooting into three separate shows, which is something virtually unheard of when it comes to television production.
After last week’s “booty war,” the real highlight here was the return of Kim Zolciak to the fray after making the decision to “leave” (otherwise known as getting her own spin-off show) during production. She definitely brought some personality to the proceedings, and also a few fireworks: she and Kandi Burruss went at it over some of their hangouts, and of course some of the other housewives (even those new to the show) found a way to get themselves involved.
But was this really that important? In watching this part of the reunion, we really found ourselves asking this question. It’s not like any of these women are going to actually spend much time with Kim in the future, and even with some of the content not related to her, we wonder how much of it is going to be important during the next season. The biggest selling point of Kim on this show used to be her drama with NeNe Leakes, but the two have reconciled and are now friends once again. It’s great for them, but it’s also boring to watch a fairy-tale after the happily ever after.
