‘Dexter’ season 8: Yvonne Strahovski open to Hannah McKay spin-off idea
Just one day after the news first came out that Yvonne Strahovski is set to return to “Dexter” for a multi-episode arc as Hannah McKay, there are already questions coming up about her future beyond that. It may be wishful thinking, but since she is one of the closest things that the show has had to a female Dexter Morgan (even though she kills for much different reasons), there is already a contingent of fans hoping to see a spin-off take place at some point.
Is this something that will happen? It seems doubtful, at least based on the fact that Hannah is not really actively looking for people to take out much like Dexter Morgan is. However, the former “Chuck” star at least made it clear during a Twitter Q&A with fans that this is something she would at least consider if it came up in the future:
“re spin off: who knows, it’s all day by day, case by case.”
It is not necessarily too far out of the realm of possibility that we could see something like this happen, at least when you consider the fact that AMC is currently considering making a “Breaking Bad” spin-off show that revolves around Bob Odenkirk’s character of Saul Goodman; meanwhile, Showtime at one point considered spinning off “Californication” with a show starring Maggie Grace, but it never ended up coming to fruition.
For now, let’s just consider Hannah as a love interest for Dexter yet again along with a possibly being the Big Bad, and we’ll just wait and see what happens next. Do you think that there could be a “Dexter” spin-off show about any of these characters? If you want to read more on the subject of Strahovski’s return, you can do so over at the link here.
