2013 ACM Awards: Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Little Big Town among winners
In case you haven’t seen any of our other articles just yet about the 2013 Academy of Country Music Awards, they are airing literally as we speak on CBS. Want to see some highlights of the early portion of the show? If so, be sure to hit up the story over at the link here. This article is geared to the winners from the show first and foremost, and with that in mind, this is going to be an article that will update as the night goes on. The coveted Entertainer of the Year trophy is handed out at the end of the night, and the real question with that at the moment is whether or not anyone can topple the immensely-popular Taylor Swift for the prize.
Of course, there were plenty of other trophies handed out during the show, and they were all significant in their own right as the Academy recognized some of the best that the genre has to offer.
Video of the Year – “Tornado,” Little Big Town.
Vocal Event of the Year – “The Only Way I Know,” Luke Bryan (who is one of the hosts for the event), Eric Church, and Jason Aldean.
Vocal Duo of the Year – Thompson Square.
New Artist of the Year – Florida Georgia Line.
Album of the Year – “Chief,” Eric Church

Single Record of the Year – “Over You,” Miranda Lambert
Male Vocalist of the Year – Jason Aldean

The biggest surprise to us? That despite each singer releasing new albums in the past year, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood each left the show empty-handed in all major categories.
