‘Dexter’ season 8 spoilers: New teaser promises ‘it isn’t going to be pretty’
Who wants to see a blood rendering of Dexter Morgan’s face? If you think this would be entertaining to see, then the new teaser released for “Dexter” season 8 is going to be right up your alley. It’s a little bit gruesome, for sure, but at the same time we almost think that the words are far more sinister here than the visual.
While there is no footage from the new season available just yet (which makes since given that there are only four episodes currently in the can), the teaser features Michael C. Hall’s character basically saying that he has started to grow sloppy as of late, and there are too many people who are starting to figure out just who he is. Of course, we already know about Deb, and how his sister killed LaGuerta. While Matthews stood by Dexter, we wonder if he has his suspicions as well; and after Maria is found dead, you have to imagine these will only be amplified. Add Batista to the mix (who, thanks to his romantic past with LaGuerta, will have a vested interest in her death), and we could be in store for quite an interesting dynamic.
The most haunting line here comes at the very end, when Dexter promises that whatever happens, “it isn’t going to be pretty.” We should once again stress that this is not advertised as the final season of the show, and this makes us wonder whether Showtime is waiting to see the direction of the story this year before making any official confirmation. While it’s believed that this will be the end, the lack of a yes or no suggests that there is still some doubt.
What do you think about this promo, and does this make you even more excited for some of the blood that is likely going to be spilled on the show moving forward? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below, and you can read some “Dexter” scoop on an upcoming episode title here.
