‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Ian Somerhalder on New York mission

With Thursday night’s new episode of “The Vampire Diaries” just one day away, isn’t it time to pick the brains of one of the show’s biggest stars? There is quite a bit worth sinking your teeth into content-wise when it comes to “Because the Night,” as we are going to see Elena in a completely new element now that her inhibitions have more or less left the building … and it’s not so much one that everyone surrounding her will be safe in. New York city’s a crowded place, and there are all sorts of possibilities here for her to wreck a little bit of havoc.

So is there going to be a way in which that Damon can change his love interest to return to his normal self? Speaking to TV Guide in a new interview, Ian Somerhalder says that his character is certainly not a fan of what Elena has become, and he is going to try to change her by in part doing what Lexi tried to do for him back in the 1970s. What Stefan has never realized is that these two had as rich of a history as they did, and that she was responsible in helping to calm Damon down after some of his exploits killing and hooking up with women left and right.

So is there still hope for Elena? You have to believe so! Remember, Stefan was far worse at one point in his life than Elena is now, and she may just need the right “instruction” to keep her emotions in check.
