‘Dexter’ season 8 spoilers: A goofy title (that will probably still turn obvious)

DexterIf there is one thing that we have learned about “Dexter” over the years, it is that the show has quite a knack for taking rather lighthearted and humorous titles, and then totally flipping them on their head when it comes to the actual episodes. Last season’s “Sunshine and Frosty Swirl” is a perfect example of this: the title made you almost interested in taking a stroll out in a garden, but then it was revealed soon afterward that this was actually a reference to Hannah McKay’s former partner-in-crime getting one last taste of something special before jumping out into the street.

So what is the latest example of this? Sources are confirming that the fifth episode of the upcoming eighth season is going to be entitled “This Little Piggy.” So who is going to the market, and who is crying all of the way home? We could see this somehow being an emotional episode or Deb, or someone who ends up feeling a sense of heartbreak or loss. Then again, can we really speculate too much about an episode midway through the season, especially when we don’t know anything about the season’s arc just yet?

As intriguing as this title may be right now, we do also have to remember that things can change with this show at the drop of a hat. After all, “Sunshine and Frosty Swirl” was actually not the original title for last season’s episode, and producers may swap it out based on what they appreciate during filming.
