‘Dexter’ season 8: When will we see first teaser?
Even though we still have over three months to go until “Dexter” season 8 officially arrives on the Showtime scene on June 30, this is getting to be around the sort of time that we would at least see some sort of teaser video put out from the network. (It was around the same amount of time before season 7 that Showtime did the same thing.) So does that mean we are the cusp of seeing something? Based on reliable sources, the answer here is “yes.”
According to show site Dexter Daily, this aforementioned teaser for “Dexter” season 8 will be made available over the next several days. In our personal opinion, it would be best suited for the network to actually air it first during their Sunday-night lineup of “Shameless,” “House of Lies,” and “Californication” as a way to incentivize tuning in. There probably will not be anything brand new in the teaser, at least save for a few graphics here and there.
As for the first official trailer for the new season, you’re still months away. The show will likely not release anything with substantial footage until early May, largely because they don’t want to kill much of their own hype by releasing it too early. Plus, the show has just started shooting the third episode of the season, so they have a rather long way to go before arriving at a point where they really have enough footage to make a full trailer out of.
