‘The Walking Dead’ season 3 spoilers: If Maggie and Glenn break up where will Herschel stand?

After what happened to Maggie and Glenn in Woodbury on “The Walking Dead” season 3, their relationship just hasn’t been the same.  Maggie wants to put the situation in the past and move forward with Glenn, but he is so wrapped up in his rage over what the Governor did to Maggie (and what he’s imagined was done to her) that he’s losing his connection with her.  Glenn is hell bent on revenge after being so helpless to do anything when the situation was happening that he is blind to the fact that his obsession is ruining the one thing he is trying to protect – his love with Maggie.

The one person that has been, and will continue to be a huge support to Glenn and Maggie no matter what happens between them romantically, is Maggie’s father Herschel.  Maggie of course is his daughter and he will always support her, but Glenn has very much become his son and he will continue to fill that role even if their relationship breaks up.

Scott Wilson (Herschel) spoke to Zap2it and said that his character will never lose respect or love for Maggie or Glenn no matter what happens between them, but obviously he hopes (like we all do) that they will find a way to work things out and stay together.  He said: “He loves them both. He views Glenn as his son and Maggie is his daughter. I think he’s gonna let it play out the way it plays out but he will not lose his love or respect for either one of them, no matter how they ultimately resolve their issues.”

Next Sunday’s episode of “The Walking Dead” season 3 is going to be a big one – the one we’ve all been waiting for.  Rick and the Governor will come face to face for the first time.  Rick will have hope that the Governor will be willing to settle their differences peacefully, but the Governor likely has other plans that involve revenge, revenge and more revenge.  If you haven’t had a chance to check out the sneak peek clips of Rick meeting the Governor for the first time, be sure to check it out here and let us know who you think will ultimately come out on top in this war.
