‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4, episode 14 preview: Ian Somerhalder’s struggle
If you thought that Thursday night’s new “Vampire Diaries” episode was a little slow-moving at times, the action on the island is about to ratchet up to a whole new level courtesy of Thursday night’s brand-new episode “Down the Rabbit Hole.” After watching the first preview for the hour below, it’s pretty easy to understand why: we have captures, trust issues, and of course plenty of violence as the quest for the cure advances to another level.
When it comes to Professor Shane, he makes his crazy goal pretty apparent in the preview: he wants to raise who he believes to be the most powerful supernatural creature of all in Silas. If he succeeds with this, we have a feeling that it is probably going to only result in chaos for both himself and for everyone else. Doesn’t anyone think this somewhat resembles Dr. Frankenstein? You may by trying to do something tremendous, only to later end up doing something terrifying.
As for Ian Somerhalder’s character, the good news is that he is alive. The bad news? His new friend and member of The Five is going to be relishing in the opportunity to torture him vigorously. This is hardly the first time that Damon has faced a little bit of violence, so it’s hard to imagine that he will give in. Unfortunately, what is a little unclear at the moment is just who is going to have the capacity to save him given how focused all of them are on the cure.
Do you think that Damon is going to make it out of this mess without any further complications, and who do you want to see discover the cure? If you want to read some more scoop on the upcoming “Vampire Diaries” spin-off pilot “The Originals,” you can do so by checking out the link here.

I think since Bex stays behind with Damon to get info out of Vaughn that she is the most likely one to save him. As an Original she has the most physical strength and she wants the cure desperately. I hope she gets it but I doubt it.
