NBC’s ‘Smash’ season 2 spoilers: Katharine McPhee, Megan Hilty tease premiere
For those of you who love “Smash,” it has undoubtedly been a long and very difficult wait between the end of last season and the start of this one. However, you have to be feeling rather great about the fact that there are new episodes of the NBC hit on Tuesday night. After being on of the most polarizing shows on TV for much of last year, you can expect this new collection of episodes to more or less be the equivalent of producers trying to hit the “reset” button and start all over. They know that not everyone was a fan of all of the stories from last time, so they are making sure that they correct this by starting some characters off in entirely new situations.
For some evidence of that, just look at what series star Katharine McPhee had to say about the show in a new interview with NBCUniversal Direct:
“Karen has a new beginning at the beginning of season 2. She really has a nonexistent love life, and she is really focused on if she is going to go to Broadway and what sort of role she is going to have [there].”
Meanwhile, Megan Hilty more or less promised the same exact thing for her own character of Ivy:
“Ivy is making a lot of changes this season, both in her personal and in her professional life. She starts off this season with a big mea culpa to Karen, and you’ll se it in the two-hour season premiere.”
