‘New Girl’ season 2 spoilers: ‘House’ alum coming between Nick and Jess

We recently posted that there is going to be someone on “New Girl” who poses a threat for Nick and Jess’ future relationship following the now-famous (and tear-jerking) kiss that occurred in last week’s episode. Now, we know just who this woman is going to be.

According to a brand-new report coming in via TVLine, former “House” star Odette Annable is going to be playing the role of Shane, who is going to be Nick’s boss at the bar. The character is a graduate of management school, and is going to have to problem flirting with the character openly and frequently. (Thus far, the characters sounds a little bit like a combination of who Olivia Munn and Carla Gugino played on the show, save for the intense parts of the latter.)

This is hardly the first time that Annable has done work in a comedy, as she played a pretty significant role on the first season of the now-canceled Fox comedy “Breaking In.” The fact that she continues to appear on network shows proves that she, like the Deschanel sisters, has a great relationship with Fox … and this could lead to her making some appearances on some other network series in the future.

As for where else you can see Annable soon, she is set to have a multi-episode arc starting up on the Cinemax series “Banshee,” which was recently picked up for a second season just a few episodes in.
