‘American Idol’: Check out Schyler Dixon, David Leathers Jr., more hidden singers

American IdolWith “American Idol” making their audition process just six episodes long this year, the advantage is that we do not have to wait nearly as long in order to see the more exciting phases of the competition.

However, the massive disadvantage that comes along with this is that we do end up from time to time missing out on some interesting auditions through the editing process … including a few singers that are probably more than a little bit familiar to past viewers of the show. This is why this article exists: to show off the Road to Hollywood videos of the notable singers who fell through the cracks.

Aubrey Cleland – This is the third straight year that Aubrey has made it to this stage in the competition.

Britnee Kellogg – She also made it fairly far in the competition last year, and says it was the “best experience of her life.”

David Leathers Jr. – Last year, this guy was a huge character thanks to his teen ladies’ man status and the claim that he once beat Scotty McCreery in a talent competition. This time, he did not get any screen time at all for his audition.

Lauren Mink – Another contestant who followed the vein of Britnee above and tried out again.

Alisha Dixon – The only thing that is notable here is that if you changed the “i” to an “e,” you would have the name of a popular “Britain’s Got Talent” judge. She’s also auditioned nine (!) times.

Schyler Dixon – Last but certainly not least, we have the most well-known member of the audition crop. We have a feeling that producers are going to really have to feel good about Schyler to put her through to the live shows, largely because she has such a built-in advantage thanks to being Colton’s sister and for making it so far in past seasons.

With that being said, we are a fan and will be pulling for er.
