Super Bowl commercials 2013: Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd tease Samsung ad (video)
On Sunday, the San Francisco 50-minus-1ers and the Baltimore Black Birds are going to face off in the “big game” … at least according to the new teaser for Samsung’s upcoming commercial during Super Bowl XLVII.
Specifically, Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd are told by “executives” for the technology brand that they need to come up with some sort of idea for the big commercial (which the company is spending millions on, in addition to hiring the talent), but they are not allowed to use the words “Super Bowl” or any of the individual team names in fear of having to pay out money to the NFL. Therefore, they come up with their own shorthand!
This is a rather funny commercial-teasing-a-commercial, and this is something that we honestly hope to see much more of as we progress onward to the game itself. What makes Rogen and Rudd such perfect choices for this part is simply that neither one of them is the sort of guy that needs a huge amount of special effects or gadgets in order to sell a quality product. They just have to rely on their personalities and some sharp writing, and they are as popular as ever right now thanks to their affiliation with Judd Apatow.
It is a long-standing tradition to use big-name stars to sell products on this particular day of the year, and for celebrities, what better exposure is there than giving yourself an opportunity to be seen by hundreds of millions of viewers around the world?
