‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 3 spoilers: Shay Mitchell on worries for Emily, Paige

Are Emily and Paige still going to be together by the end of “Pretty Little Liars” season 3? On this occasion, it may not be so much a question of whether or not Emily and Paige break up … at least so much as it is a question as to if Paige is going to actually make it through this season alive.

You see, Paige is a protective sort, and despite having some fears about chasing a member of “The A-Team” through a forest earlier this season, she is going to be doing what she can in order to help the woman she loves find some peace. Not only that, but she will also be roping in another familiar face in Caleb to lend a helping hand. Speaking in a new interview with Wetpaint, Shay Mitchell said the following about her onscreen girlfriend, and whether or not her actions (while noble) could end up landing her in some trouble:

“Paige and Caleb are playing a very dangerous game. They’re trying to go behind Hanna and Emily’s backs, and they’re putting themselves in danger. We know ‘A’ doesn’t play nice.” 

Personally, it would be the most terrible and awful thing imaginable if Paige dies on the show a year after Maya fell victim to the same fate, which is precisely why we don’t see it happening. The writers here have to set up some sort of positive endgame for the character, and while they want to showcase her going through some struggles, the last thing that they likely want is for her to end up either depressed or so scarred that she never wants to date again.
