‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: What’s next for Stefan and Rebekah?

Paul WesleyWho imagined at the start of “The Vampire Diaries” season 4 that we would be talking about the rise of Stefan and Rebekah as a couple? Just through the past two episodes alone we as viewers have been sold firmly on the idea, and the more time that the two parties actually spend together, the more the pairing actually seems to make a little bit of sense.

For the latest example of this, just check out the strong, silent role that Paul Wesley’s character plays in the latest sneak peek for next week’s new episode “A View to a Kill.” Even though the entire conversation is between Rebekah and her brother Klaus, his presence alone likely makes the dynamic between these two siblings different than what it would be otherwise.

As for what Klaus wants with Rebekah in the first place, it’s rather simple: a way in which to kill Kol. The man, paranoid about the possibility of Silas getting to rise from the grave, is running around like a madman with a white oak stake in his possession, and Kluas is desperate to do away with him for good. The problem for him here? Unfortunately, Rebekah is not exactly willing to let go of the only means that she has to protect herself from the other Originals, especially considering that Klaus does not exactly have the best history of standing up for his sister.

The real question that we have for Thursday’s episode is simply if Kol is actually going to survive it; and if he does die, what sort of ramifications are going to come as a result. Originals don’t quite die like everyone else, and we’re not quite so sure that Rebekah wants to put Kol down with the same level of intensity that Klaus does.

Do you like Stefan’s presence in this scene, even if he doesn’t really say anything at all? If you want to see some more footage from this episode, you can do so over at the link here.
