‘American Horror Story’ season 3: Taissa Farmiga in talks to return next season
Showrunner Ryan Murphy wrapped up the second season of “American Horror Story: Asylum” last night and even though the show just ended 12 hours ago, fans are all a buzz about what’s coming up for season 3 and which cast members will be coming back for more thrills and chills.
In season 1, Murphy created a tragic ‘Romeo and Juliet’ type love story between Evan Peters (Tate) and Taissa Farmiga (Violet) and he has said that he wants to bring that type of romantic connection back for season three. Will it be between Evan and Taissa again? It’s possible, they have an undeniable chemistry between them that left viewers tuning in every week to see how it would all unfold.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Murphy revealed that Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson and Peters would all be back for season 3 of “American Horror Story”, and that he wants Farmiga back for season 3 as well and not just as a supporting cast member, but in a leading role. He said: “I missed her this season. There wasn’t really a role for her. I feel very protective of her and I didn’t want her to go back into the loony bin—it was too dark. So I thought well ‘I want Taissa to be one of the leads next year.’ I called her up and pitched her the character for the season and she loved it and she said, ‘Yes let’s do it.’ So we’re in negotiations for her to headline season 3.”
Murphy has dropped hints at what “American Horror Story” season 3 would be about, but at this point no one really knows for sure, just that it will be “evil glamor” (maybe the Salem witch trials?) One thing we do know is that Murphy plans to shoot season 3 in three different cities this time instead of keeping it all confined to one area.
What genre of horror are you hoping to see on “American Horror Story” season 3? Who else from the cast would you like to see return for the next installment of the series? One person we would love to see come back in a larger role is Frances Conroy – we love her. Leave us a comment and let us know what you want to see next season.
