‘Doctor Who’ season 7: Matt Smith, Jenna-Louise Coleman to return March 30

Following the stellar “Doctor Who” Christmas special “The Snowmen,” we now know just when we will be seeing Matt Smith, Jenna-Louise Coleman, and the rest of the cast coming back to BBC One and BBC America for the rest of their season 7 episodes later this year. Luckily, it is only just a matter of two months away.

In a new statement on Wednesday, it was announced that the beloved Steven Moffat-produced series will be back on Saturday, March 30, just one day before another personal favorite in “Game of Thrones” returns with new episodes. While there are not very many specific episode-by-episode spoilers that are available at the moment, here is what we can tell you to expect from the show:

1. There will be more references to past seasons, and more classic characters that will resurface.

2. While Coleman’s character Clara Oswald may seem to be just the latest incarnation of a companion to the Doctor on the surface, there is so much more here than meets the eye. As you get to know more about just who she is, there will be questions that come up when it comes to her past … and in some ways, her lack thereof. (Think Manti Te’o, but less creepy.)
