‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 spoilers: Check out some more casting news
You know your show has a countless amount of characters when you are in this sort of situation: you don’t think that there is any possible way that more casting news can be announced, and then it is. Yet somehow, the most amazing thing about “Game of Thrones” is that it can completely get away with this, and we are not particularly upset with them in the slightest.
According to a new report from Winter Is Coming, there are actually three new castings worth talking about; and while none of these people will necessarily be playing enormous parts on the HBO series on par with the Lannisters or Daenerys Targeryan, they are still a part of the rich tapestry that is the story.
Tom Brooke – This may be the most significant casting of the ones we have here, as the British TV veteran will be playing the role of “Lame” Lothar Frey. His character has a part to play with the Stark family (in particular Robb and Catelyn) during the George R.R. Marin book A Storm of Swords, and since the series has done a pretty good job over the years staying true to the source material, we have a feeling that we will be seeing something very similar happen here.
Burn Gorman – Even less is known here, but this actor will be playing a member of the Night’s Watch (which to us means almost by default that he will be seen along with Samwell). Gorman is best known for “Torchwood.”
Stephanie Blacker – This one is the most obscure of all, as the site used a CV to find out that she will be playing the role of “Violet” in one of the later episodes of the season. There is a character known as this in the books, but they appear only in flashbacks.
What do you think about these castings? If you want to preview the “Game of Thrones” season 2 DVD with a rap video (weird as that sounds), you can do so here.
