‘Homeland’ season 3 spoilers: Claire Danes isn’t going anywhere…
Remember when the “Homeland” season 2 finale actually made it even more obvious that this is a show more about Carrie than it is any other character? That in itself should make the following tabloid rumor completely null and void, but we’ll dive a little bit deeper, anyway, just to point out just how backwards and ridiculous this story really is.
The National Enquirer reported recently that for whatever reason, Claire Danes is thinking about her future because she loves being a new mom to her son Cyrus so much that she isn’t quite sure she wants to be away from them. From there, they then sensationalize a story to the point where she is considering quitting the Showtime drama before season 3, and that the network is offering her a substantial pay raise.
Ready for the facts? Here we go…
1. It’s standard for actors to get a raise every season; it’s a benefit to having a successful show, and has nothing to do with whether or not Showtime is being scared for Danes to leave.
2. Even if Danes is loving being a new mom (which is likely), it’s crazy and almost sexist to think that she is simply going to want to stay at home with him and have no career for herself.
3. She’s also under contract for several more seasons, not that this really matters. She’s got an Emmy to her name, so she clearly knows that this is one of the best jobs in TV.
4. A source close to Danes also tells Gossip Cop that this story is false, though it is not really like you needed this extra validation to really know just how bogus this story is.
“Homeland” season 3 should be getting deep into the writing process soon, and filming will begin in either April or May depending on what sort of locations (some are believed to be international) the network decides that they need. Either way, Danes is going to have several more months as a newborn before returning to work, and we will see just how Carrie tries to clear Brody’s name then.

@ Ben Really? Show me articles where tabloids are claiming men are staying home to spend more time with their newborn. Then I might believe you that it isn’t sexist.

You only needed 1 3 and 4. You are completely right Danes isn’t going anywhere, but it is neither crazy, nor sexist, to think that Danes might want to stay home and raise her child. Plenty of mothers do want to do so and it is not because they are crazy nor somehow undermining their gender.
