‘The Bachelor’ 2013: A Sean Lowe surprise from Melissa Rycroft

Sean Lowe as "The Bachelor"Melissa Rycroft and Sean Lowe have quite a bit in common. Both are reality stars well-known for a version of “The Bachelor” or “The Bachelorette,” and both also know the sting of having most of America witness their rejection and root for them to succeed. In addition to all of their common ground when it comes to TV, they are also both Texas with roots to similar communities.

So why in the world is the reigning “Dancing with the Stars” champ Melissa unsure about whether or not she is going to watch Sean’s season premiering early next year? Speaking on the subject to E! News, Rycroft (who is now both married to Tye Strickland, a man who has nothing to do with the show, and a mother) explains that much of it has to do with the sole fact that she knows a bit too well everything that goes into the production of the show, and therefore she has a harder time buying into it:

“I don’t know anymore, just because, obviously, after I was a castmember, I hosted on Bachelor Pad … I saw all sides of that show and I can’t watch it anymore with that ‘Maybe they’ll fall in love and maybe this will be perfect’ sort of eye!”

Ultimately, this may be Rycroft’s nice way of saying that she has become a bit jaded when it comes to the show, which is a very difficult venue in which to find true and lasting love through. You are in a fiercely competitive environment where you are literally doing nothing but talking about someone and dating someone, and this can cause you to be fixated and brainwashed (even unintentionally) from how you would act around them in the real world.

What do you think about Melissa’s comments, and do you think that Sean will be able to be the rare example of a guy who is able to find a lasting relationship through this show? If you want to see what Sean has to say about the season at the moment, you can do so over here.
