‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Is there hope for Bonnie and Jeremy yet?

While they are certainly not the couple from “The Vampire Diaries” that just about everyone talks about, there is still no question that Bonnie and Jeremy are a pair of characters who have a deeply-rooted history on the CW series. Sadly, they also have a good bit of baggage, considering the fact that Jeremy last cheated on her with the ghost of his dead ex Anna. (You know, the sort of problem that most people run into during their everyday lives.)

So can these two characters still manage to find a way to work out their relationship? Speaking to TV Guide, executive producer Julie Plec suggests that the small glimmer of hope that you saw between the two characters during the midseason finale is something that is going to be around for at least a little while moving forward:

“What this episode did, in the form of nostalgia, is a reminder that there are some unresolved feelings there … There was love there and maybe just a glimpse of hope for something more.”

The key word here of course is “hope,” since it still comes across as rather hard to believe that Jeremy and Bonnie are going to be able to work through the myriad of problems that they are dealing with at the moment in a short amount of time. After all, there is an enormous amount of emotional baggage still here after all they have went through, in addition to the current stress regarding Professor Shane and Jeremy trying to understand his new role as a hunter.
