NBC’s ‘Community’ season 4 spoilers: Filming complete (plus tribute hints)
For those of you anxiously awaiting the news, it’s official: “Community” season 4 has finished filming, even though the show is still a whopping two months away from airing new episodes over on NBC. Multiple cast members confirmed this breaking news all over Twitter this week … but the good news does not stop there at all.
Rather, a new video from France that has surfaced (which you can watch over at SpoilerTV) reveals via Joel McHale that there are a few specific tributes coming up in addition to the play on “The Hunger Games” that we are going to be seeing during the February 7 premiere. There will be an episode themed around “The Matrix” (meaning that the first third will be awesome, whereas the second two-thirds will be disappointing and then terrible), some references to “The Terminator,” and finally an episode taking place in an alternate universe. The latter in particular is something that a number of other shows have done in the past, but considering this is “Community” you know that the writers are going to find to push this to an entirely new level.
As you likely already know by now, Chevy Chase wrapped filming the show early, as for whatever reason he and the producers made the decision for him to go almost at the drop of a hat. He will appear in the finale (which was shot out of order), though it is unclear if he will be in the two episodes that precede it.
What do you think about some of the ideas that the new “Community” team is coming up with, and are they suitable replacements in your mind to what Dan Harmon has done? If you want to see some more of the latest casting news via Jason Alexander, be sure to head on over to the link here.
