‘True Blood’s’ Denis O’Hare heads on over ‘Law & Order: SVU’
As sad as we were to see Denis O’Hare’s character of Russell Edgington killed off on “True Blood” earlier this year (and believe us, we were very sad), it does bring us some joy to announce that he is going to be jumping over to another show pretty soon … and this time, it is a big-time hit on network TV.
According to a report from TV Guide, O’Hare will be stopping by an upcoming episode of “Law & Order: SVU” a little bit later this season, where he is actually going to be playing a part that he first originated on another version of the longstanding franchise in “Criminal Intent”: a priest who goes by the name of Father Shea. We don’t know how the character will get roped into the action on this show, but it’s still safe to say that we have another reason now to tune in. This episode should air at some point early next year.
In addition to his scene-stealing “True Blood” work, some of O’Hare’s other high-profile credits from this past week include a spot on “The Good Wife” along with the first season of “American Horror Story.” Let’s hope that there is an opening coming up soon for him to do some more work on either one of those shows. (The more O’Hare we have on the screen, the better! We’re sure you are getting the point by now that this guy elevates any show that he appears on to another level.)
What do you think about this casting, and do you wish O’Hare would finally just land a juicy series regular gig on some show? If you haven’t caught some of the latest “True Blood” season 6 scoop, you can do so over at the link here.
