‘Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars’: Winners Melissa Rycroft, Tony Dovolani say…
Even though any winner of “Dancing with the Stars” would have been sweet, it may have ultimately been the sweetest to see two people come out on top who did not win the ballroom competition their first time around: Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani. Even going into this season, they were underdogs: we never once had them at the top of our rankings over fear that their fan following was smaller than everyone else, but ultimately the groundswell of support for the two, especially for Tony getting his first win in fourteen tries, was enough to propel the two to the coveted Mirrorball Trophy.
The only thing that made this whole deal even sweeter? The hilarious chat the two had with Jimmy Kimmel afterwards. On Tuesday night’s edition of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, the two each appeared with their trophies in tow to joke a bit about the competition, how Melissa plans to drive around with the trophy on the hood of her car, and how Melissa is slowly crushing all of her past demons. (This led Jimmy to joke that former “Bachelor” Jason Mesnick was next.)
The nice thing about this victory for the two of them is that it means that there is still no two-time celebrity winner on this show, even though there are many pros with a number of trophies to their name. Now, we just have to sit around and wait and see where the show goes from here. Will the producers opt to bring in the same sort of celebrities as ever for the spring season, or go in a completely new direction by adding a theme to the mix? Only time will tell.
