Ratings: NBC’s ‘Revolution,’ ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ ‘2 Broke Girls’ up big
Thank goodness for the end of Thanksgiving, and for CBS, thank goodness for them finding a way to prop up their Monday-night lineup for the time being. After long suffering with “Partners” dragging everything down, they have deciding to fix their schedule with the show that really fixes everything at the moment: “The Big Bang Theory.”
Let this digest for a minute: a repeat of the sitcom drew a 3.2 rating at 8:30 p.m. Eastern last night. This is more than a 50% increase on the ratings for new “Partners” episodes, and it also the second-best show in its timeslot ahead of “Dancing with the Stars” (which finished with a solid 2.6, up from last week), “90210” (0.5), and “Bones” (2.3). Having this show around also helped “2 Broke Girls” score a season high with a 4.0 rating, and “Mike & Molly” did the same thing with a 3.6. Even if CBS does not move “The Big Bang Theory” back to Mondays, you have to think that they are not going to rush in a replacement show based on these numbers.
Elsewhere, it was a good night for TV really all around save for “Extreme Makeover Home Edition” (which bombed following the “Dancing with the Stars” finale). Although “The Voice” may be slightly inflated due to a preemption, its 4.2 rating is an impressive increase over last week. The same goes for “Revolution,” which improved to a 2.9 for its fall finale. We also do have to show some appreciation to ABC for taking a risk here: rather than airing their “Castle” fall finale against “Revolution,” they instead decided to wait a week and put it on against lesser competition. Will this pay off? Only time will tell.
What did you catch Monday?
