‘Once Upon a Time’ season 2, episode 8 preview: Captain Hook’s new plan
If there is one person on “Once Upon a Time” season 2 who has both been a revelation and a bit of a disappointment thus far, it’s Colin O’Donoghue’s character of Captain Hook. On one side of the coin, the man has been a brilliant personality, and he gives Emma someone who is both an enemy and a potential love interest at the same time. After all, wasn’t he shown to us juxtaposed against Neal Cassady for a reason? However, at the same time he has hardly been much of a villain save for taking away Rumpelstiltskin’s unhappy wife, and we have seen Robert Carlyle’s character commit far worse acts already.
With all of this in mind, it is looking more and more like we are in for an interesting episode Sunday night, as Hook is coming to come back in contact with the woman who first charged him to obtain the compass needed to visit Storybrooke: Barbara Hershey’s Cora. Sadly, he is not coming to her with particularly good news, and this is going to create even more problems for the two parties moving forward.
More than anything, what Hook’s revelation tells Cora is that he may not be the villain that she thought he was, either, and she is now going to have to take matters into her own hands. When you remember just what sort of dark magic this woman is capable of, you know that this is not good news by any stretch of the imagination for our characters still trapped in this fairytale world.
What has been your take on O’Donoghue’s Hook so far this season? We want to hear some of your thoughts below!
