‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 spoilers: Meet Roslin Frey
With much of “Game of Thrones” season 3 already in the can, there are not that many opportunities that are available out there to find out casting news. Why? If it remained a secret during the filming process, then odds are that it will probably remain a secret for at least a little while longer.
However, what we have now is somewhat of an exception of the rule. According to Winter Is Coming (and citing information from her CV as evidence), recent Oxford School of Drama Alexandra Dowling is supposedly set to play Roslin Frey on the HBO series. Fans of A Song and Ice and Fire surely remember the character from A Storm of Swords, which is one the primary books in the series that will lay the groundwork for the season 3 story. (Filming is starting up as we speak in Northern Iceland.) It’s not clear whether or not she would have a significant role here on the show, but without giving too much away her character has storylines that impact both the Stark and Tully families.
Some of Dowling’s credits coming up also include a spot on another show finned in the United Kingdom in “Merlin,” and also the movie “Hammer of the Gods” (which sounds an awful lot like “Thor” by name only). Since She does not really have anything to do with Jon Snow’s story at all, her work on the series is already complete. (Congrats to production for keeping this under wraps for as long as they did.
Are you interested in seeing what Dowling ends up bringing to the part, or even what she really looks like on the small screen, given how little we know about her?
